LIVE: Busy Oldham road CLOSED as police investigate 'serious crash' - latest updates

A large cordon is in place on a busy Oldham road following a 'serious crash' overnight. Police are at the scene on Greenacres Road this morning (June 3).

Google Maps shows Greenacres Road is currently closed off in both directions between Hanson Street and Buttermere Road, outside Greenacres Cemetery. A post from GMP Oldham Central on Facebook in the early hours of the morning said: "We are currently responding to a serious road traffic collision on Greenacres Road in Oldham.

"Emergency services are in attendance and the road is likely to remain closed throughout the night. Delays in the area are expected and we thank you for your patience whilst we conduct enquiries."

Three cars appear to be involved in the collision. One remains on its roof in the road, while a second has landed on top of the third. Evidence markers are currently at the scene.
