Martial, Malacia, Bennett - Manchester United injury latest and return dates before Arsenal game

Manchester United will begin their pre-season tour of the United States on Saturday when they face Arsenal at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Erik ten Hag and his squad flew out to the US from Edinburgh following their 1-0 win over Lyon at Murrayfield. The Reds are two wins from two after a 2-0 win over Leeds.

Following the bulk of the squad in arriving in America was Andre Onana, with the 27-year-old's arrival confirmed late on Thursday evening.

It's been nearly seven weeks since United's 2022/2023 season ended with FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City, a period which has allowed the majority of Ten Hag's side to recover from their various injuries. Lisandro Martinez and Donny van de Beek were the notable returnees, but United will not be at full strength tomorrow.

With that said, MEN Sport has taken a close look at the situation on the injury front.

Anthony Martial

United's only out-and-out striker has not featured in either pre-season friendly so far this summer. Martial was on the pitch at full-time in the final Premier League game of the season against Fulham but strained his hamstring muscle towards the end of that match.

He was absent for the FA Cup final, with assessments before the trip to Wembley revealing a muscle tear.
