Manchester United vs Brighton LIVE highlights and reaction as Hannibal scores but United hammered
Manchester United were defeated at Old Trafford in the Premier League for the first time in over a year against Brighton.
Prior to the game, Brighton had defeated United 7-1 on aggregate across the last four meetings between the two sides, and they had completed a league double over the club for the first time last season in the most successful campaign in their history.
It was always bound to be a tricky fixture and although Erik ten Hag's side were much the better side in the opening 15 minutes, squandering a few chances, it was Brighton who opened the scoring in the 19th minute.
Danny Welbeck scored against his former club and Rasmus Hojlund thought he'd equalised before half-time, only for for it to be disallowed. There were no changes at the break and the away side picked up where they left off.
Brighton scored again shortly after the interval and they made it 3-0 with 15 minutes remaining.
Hannibal Mejbri, who came on from the bench, also scored a consolation goal.
