Manchester United vs Athletic Bilbao LIVE highlights and reaction as Pellistri secures draw

Manchester United will put the finishing touches to their pre-season preparations when they face Basque outfit Athletic Bilbao at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin this afternoon, kick-off 4pm.

United, who are scheduled to get their 2023/24 Premier League campaign up and running at home to Wolves next Monday evening, are expected to field a much-changed team this afternoon following yesterday's triumph over RC Lens at Old Trafford. The Reds recovered from a goal down at half-time to win 3-1.

Manager Erik ten Hag fielded a starting line-up yesterday that resembled something close to what is expected to start against Wolves, meaning the XI that starts in Dublin this afternoon has a much-changed look to it. Tom Heaton captains the side while Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Christian Eriksen all start.

This afternoon's tussle marks United's eighth and final friendly of the summer, four of which they have won so far. They will be hoping to add another win to their tally and head into their season curtain-raiser with a spring in their step.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Did next to nothing in the final third again, which is what he is judged on. Opened conversation with Ten Hag; perhaps he is coming out of his shell. 5
