Manchester United transfer news RECAP Darwin Nunez to Man Utd latest as Juan Mata exit confirmed

The season may have long concluded but there's still plenty happening at Manchester United.

Following Erik ten Hag's arrival in Manchester last week there has been plenty more movement behind the scenes at Old Trafford. Tuesday saw the club appoint Andy O'Boyle as the club's inaugural deputy football director.

O'Boyle, 39, has vacated his role as the head of elite performance at the Premier League to support United football director John Murtough, who was in the same role as O'Boyle when he joined the club in 2013.

Elsewhere, United confirmed the departures of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard on Wednesday afternoon. Pogba is expected to rejoin Juventus, whom he joined from United in 2012 while West Ham are interested in re-signing Lingard after his productive loan.

We will back again tomorrow with all the latest news fro Old Trafford.

While Paul Pogba’s talent has rarely been in doubt, it’s a clear indication of his career so far that he leaves Manchester United under a cloud.

Pogba’s second spell with the Reds will come to an end this summer after it was confirmed by United on Wednesday he will be leaving the club at the end of his contract. He now looks set to make a return to Juventus, with the Turin club reportedly close to wrapping up a deal for the 29-year-old.

The midfielder has of course won the biggest prize of them all at international level, and was instrumental in France’s World Cup win in 2018. And yet, there remains a major question mark over his club career.
