Manchester United transfer news RECAP Glazers 'to take Man Utd off market' plus Hojlund in squad for Arsenal

Manchester United landed four deadline day signings on Friday as Erik ten Hag completed his summer business.

Earlier summer signing Rasmus Hojlund is in the squad to take on Arsenal on Sunday after recovering from a back injury he arrived with.

The club managed to get a loan deal for Sofyan Amrabat over the line and have the option to make his move permanent for €20million plus €5m in add-ons. Ten Hag managed the midfielder at FC Utrecht between 2015 and 2017.

Meanwhile, United's search for an emergency left-back ended with a Sergio Reguilon loan switch from Tottenham, who is also in the squad vs Arsenal. The signing of new No.2 goalkeeper Altay Bayindir was also finalised, making him the first Turkish player to play for United.

Jonny Evans also penned a one-year deal after being taken on pre-season tour by United.. He is yet to play a competitive game for United this season but that could be set to change now he has penned a new deal.

Stay tuned for the latest reaction to United's transfer deadline day moves.

It's been reported tonight that the Glazer family are to take Manchester United off the market having "failed to get close to their anticipated asking price".

The report in the Daily Mail quotes an unnamed source with "long-standing close ties" to the Glazers who says that the plan had been to attract multiple bidders, which didn't materialise. The source is quoted as saying:

"The Glazers are thick-skinned and won’t be influenced by any negative fan reactions."

Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe emerged as the two main bidders for United, but after multiple rounds of bidding there has been an impasse for several months.

The report claims that the Glazers' tactic now is to put the club back up for sale in 2025
