Manchester United have trips to Germany, Turkey and Denmark to look forward to in the Champions League this season.

The Champions League draw has been made and United meet Bayern Munich, Galatasaray and F.C Copenhagen in the group stage of the competition.

United last played in the Champions League in 2021/22 and they won their group that season after playing Villarreal, Atalanta and Young Boys before being eliminated by Atletico Madrid in the last 16.

Ten Hag will be hoping to take the club further in the competition this time around and new signing Rasmus Hojlund would have been pleased with the draw, as he'll return to Copenhagen for the first time since leaving the club.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich are steeped in European history and they last met United, then managed by David Moyes, in 2013/14 in the Champions League quarter-finals. The German side were the defending champions that season and won 4-2 on aggregate.

Bayern have won six European Cups and they last lifted the most sought-after trophy on the continent three years ago when defeating Paris Saint-Germain in a tense, behind-closed-doors encounter.

Hansi Flick led Bayern to that triumph, but he was sacked in June 2021 and Julian Nagelsmann replaced him, although he eventually met the same fate as his predecessor earlier this year and Thomas Tuchel was appointed.

Tuchel, who took over the reins at Bayern with just a few months remaining last season, won the Bundesliga title, but that success looked unlikely because Borussia Dortmund just needed a win on the final day to win the league.
