Two Manchester United players could still leave the club next week

The English transfer window has closed with a record £2.36billion spent in the Premier League alone this summer.

Manchester United were accountable for £176million of that figure, with £72m being spent on Rasmus Hojlund. Erik ten Hag is now unable to splash again until January, although other clubs from other nations may still come calling for some squad members.

Despite reported interest from the continent, Donny van de Beek has ended up staying at United on deadline day. One of the clubs linked with the midfielder was Turkish giants Galatasaray, whose transfer window is still open.

The Super Lig does not shut its window until September 15th, meaning their teams still have time to nab Premier League talent. Van de Beek is yet to play this season having not featured competitively for the Reds since his knee injury back in January.

Eric Bailly has not played for United since 2021, spending last season on loan at Marseille. The Ligue 1 club had clauses to sign the defender if he reached certain landmarks but these were not met and he returned to Carrington this summer.

He was not taken on the club’s pre-season tour and an exit was due to be organised, albeit unsuccessfully so far. Bailly has been linked to a switch to Saudi Arabia and that option still remains a possibility.

The Saudi market is still open and only shuts on Thursday, September 7. United have already benefitted from the influx of investment from the nation, having sold Alex Telles to Al-Nassr for £6m.
