Manchester United transfer news LIVE Sheikh Jassim takeover updates and Sadio Mane latest
Manchester United are continuing to step up their preparations ahead of Saturday's trip to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Following Liverpool's comfortable 3-0 win over relegation-threatened Leicester City on Monday evening, United will head into their clash with the Cherries just a point clear of the fifth-placed Merseysiders. Jurgen Klopp's side have won each of their last seven league games and are refusing to give up on securing a top four finish.
United, however, have a game in hand on Liverpool, meaning they have three league games left in comparison to the Anfield outfit's two. After facing Bournemouth at the weekend, Erik ten Hag's side face Chelsea next Thursday and then Fulham on the final day of the season three days later.
United are also locked on level points with third-placed Newcastle United, meaning there is very little to split the three teams with just over a fortnight of the campaign remaining.
Meanwhile, it was claimed by the Daily Mail last night that Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani has tabled an 'eleventh-hour take it or leave it' offer to buy the club. He remains determined to secure full control of the club despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe having emerged as the frontrunner over the past week or so.
