Manchester United transfer news LIVE Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe latest plus David De Gea future

The transfer window is now a few days old and it is eagerly anticipated which players Manchester United will sign this summer.

United are seeking to be active in the market in the months to come and will aim to boast a stronger squad for Erik ten Hag to call upon by the time the window closes at the start of September. Several areas within the squad could be strengthened.

A new centre forward is among the priorities and several targets are options United could turn to. Central midfield is also an area earmarked for strengthening, with Chelsea's Mason Mount on the list. Though personal terms have been agreed with the player, a transfer fee is yet to be agreed with the Stamford Bridge outfit.

And goalkeeper is another part of the United squad under the microscope. An impact on the transfer business in this area of the team will depend on if David De Gea remains at United or not, with his contract at the club just weeks away from expiring and no new deal yet agreed.
