The latter was brought in from Newcastle on loan to offset Dean Henderson joining Premier League newcomers Nottingham Forest.

Several players - some genuine and many otherwise - continue to be linked to United with names such as De Jong, Antoine Griezmann, Cody Gakpo and Goncalo Ramos from Benfica thought to be on the agenda. But will Ten Hag make any mid-season additions?
