Manchester United transfer news LIVE Darwin Nunez updates and Jurrien Timber to Man United latest

Manchester United and other Premier League teams will be able to get down to business today.

That's because the summer transfer window officially opened this morning. United want to sign a centre back, at least one central midfielder and a versatile attacking option. As things stand, their top targets are Jurrien Timber, Frenkie de Jong and Darwin Nunez.

However, such is the quality of those players, United and Ten Hag won't have a free run and Liverpool appear to be willing to break their transfer record for Nunez. He scored 34 goals in 41 matches for Benfica last season.

Aside from those players, other big names continue to be linked with moves to Old Trafford and beyond.

Manchester United want to keep Eric Ramsay as part of Erik ten Hag's backroom staff, despite the coach being on the shortlist to take over as Barnsley's next manager.

United are aware of the interest in the 30-year-old, who is considered one of the most promising young coaches in the game, but are keen to retain his services next season.

Ramsay was appointed as a coach focusing on set-pieces and technical skills a year ago and although there has been a churn in backroom staff over the last 12 months, United want to keep Ramsay to work with Ten Hag.
