Manchester United transfer deal 'confirmed' by agent with official announcement now imminent

Manchester United's first summer transfer has seemingly been confirmed as Joshua Zirkzee closes in on a move to the Premier League.

MEN Sport previously reported that talks between Zirkzee, Bologna and the Reds were progressing and United are confident they will be able to complete a deal before the month ends. United agreed a deal, worth £35m, despite the Holland international's £34m release clause as the payments will be staggered over a three-year period as opposed to paying the fee upfront with the hope of completing the move as early as today (Friday).

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins scored in stoppage time to send Gareth Southgate's side through to Sunday's final in Berlin, where they will meet Spain.

The Bologna forward made two appearances in Germany, both of which coming as late substitutes in the quarter final win over Turkiye and in the dying embers in Dortmund on Wednesday.
