Manchester United told which three youngsters Erik ten Hag should promote

Manchester United hero Gary Pallister has backed Alejandro Garnacho, James Garner and Hannibal Mejbri to break into Erik ten Hag’s side next season.

The new United boss will have plenty of players to cast his eye over this summer, with a number of the club’s youngsters aiming to force their way into his plans after an impressive campaign last term. United’s academy stars provided a bright spark in what was otherwise a dismal season at Old Trafford.

Garnacho emerged as the standout performer as the club lifted the FA Youth Cup for the first time since 2011. The former Atletico Madrid teenager went on to earn a place in the senior squad towards the end of the campaign, as well earning a call up for Argentina.

Hannibal will also be in the running for the first team this summer after making his senior debut last season. Garner, meanwhile, could figure in Ten Hag’s plans after playing a huge role in Nottingham Forest’s promotion to the Premier League.

All three will likely get their chance to impress in pre-season following some high-profile exits, and with United yet to make any new additions. Former defender Pallister though believes United’s young trio can force their way into the reckoning under Ten Hag.

“He is at the right age and he is now doing it at international level,” Pallister said on Garnacho, speaking to Bookies Bonuses (via the Metro ).

“He is certainly making a point for himself, you’ve also got James Garner back from his spell at Nottingham Forest, I’m sure he is the same boat. We’ve also got Hannibal Mejrbri, there are big expectations for him.
