Manchester United takeover latest as Sir Jim Ratcliffe makes fresh admission

Manchester United takeover hopeful Sir Jim Ratcliffe has opened up about his attempts to buy the club in a rare public interview.

Both Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani have remained tight-lipped in regards to the sale process after submitting their respective offers to the Glazers. United's owners are continuing to mull over the bids which are on the table and have provided very few updates.

MEN Sport reported in August that Sheikh Jassim was concerned the Glazers would opt not to sell United having failed to hear back from them after submitting their £5bn improved bid. Given the opportunity to provide an update, Avram Glazer chose to avoid answering questions on the sale from journalists during the US pre-season tour.

In the latest look at the takeover headlines, Ratcliffe opens up on his thoughts regarding the running of the club and his bid.

Both bids from Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim are thought to be in the £5bn region. Unfortunately for United supporters, updates on the takeover process
