Manchester United takeover latest as Sheikh Jassim bid hits 'unresolvable problem'

Manchester United's takeover continues to be the source of anguish among supporters as the new season draws near.

United are still no closer to announcing the resolution to the sale process as we head towards nine months since the Glazers announced a 'strategic review' into their ownership. During the recent tour of the US, reporters posed questions to Avram Glazer about the takeover but the co-owner refused to answer.

For now, all United fans can do is sit and wait for news but any hopes of the sale being resolved before the start of the Premier League campaign have now gone up in smoke.

MEN Sport has taken a look at some of the latest takeover headlines and one of the latest rumours suggests Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani's bid has hit trouble.

According to The Independent, there is a distinct lack of movement behind the scenes at United in regards to the takeover. This is believed to be due, in no small part, to a 'huge complication' taking place among the Glazer family.

It is understood Joel and Avram Glazer are determined to stay at Old Trafford despite other members of the family being happy to sell. This, of course, would be disastrous for Sheikh Jassim because his proposal aims to purchase 100 per cent of the club. If the siblings are unwilling to leave, the Qatari banker's bid could be dead in the water.
