Manchester United fans protest against Glazer family and possible Mason Greenwood return

Two protests took place outside Old Trafford prior to the Premier League game between Manchester United and Wolves on Monday night.

With the club still up for sale, match-goers gathered to vent their frustrations at the much-maligned Glazer family. Although there has been an intense bidding process, United remain at a crossroads off the pitch with no significant update provided by their American owners.

British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS company have made a bid, while Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is also in the running.

While United are still under Glazer family ownership, protests have continued. There was a significant number of fans at the latest protest on Monday night.

Meanwhile, a pre-planned protest against Mason Greenwood's potential return to the playing squad at United has also taken place. United delayed their decision on an announcement over his future last week.

Greenwood had been charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault. The Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges against Greenwood in February 2023 and since then United have conducted their own inquiries as they “determine the next steps”.
