Manchester United takeover latest as fans announce new Glazers protest

Manchester United fans will be making their feelings known to the Glazer family on Tuesday amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the takeover.

The American owners announced the club would be seeking further investment, including the option of a full sale, back in November. Since then, progress surrounding the takeover has been slow.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are both in the running to takeover but neither man has received clarity as to whether they are the preferred bidder or not. All this has led to increased frustration among supporters and has led to a further protest tomorrow.

Manchester United supporters' group The 1958 has announced plans to protest against the Glazers amid ongoing frustration regarding a prospective takeover of the club.

In an announcement made on Twitter late on Sunday night, the group detailed plans to protest outside the club's megastore on Tuesday June 27, coinciding with the release of next season's kit.

The protests come as the takeover process drags into its eighth month, with little recent progress. Both Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are still awaiting a decision on exclusivity.

A tweet from the 1958 Twitter account read: "DON’T FEED GLAZER GREED! The 1958 will have a presence at the megastore on Tuesday. A legal protest from 9:45am. Be there! Bring your anti Glazer flags and banners! Be loud, be visual. We don’t stop until they sell our club! #GlazersOut #BoycottAdidas".
