It has been a year of ups and downs for United - last season saw Erik ten Hag bring the Carabao Cup and qualification to the Champions League to the club. But the new season has not provided the progress many were hoping for, although green shoots of recovery have been seen in recent weeks.

It's that time again where we ask United fans to have their say about who they think deserves to be named the club's best player across the calendar year, and you have four nominations to choose from.

It has been a disappointing start to the new season for Rashford, but his contribution earlier in the year can't be forgotten as one of the most prolific goalscorers in the world, never mind the Premier League. United were over-reliant on Rashford but he produced more often than not. His final tally of 30 goals officially made it the best season of his career, and his goals in the first six months of 2023 helped United win a trophy and secure a top-four finish. He scored the opening goal against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley and that strike set the tone for a memorable afternoon.

Casemiro was outstanding earlier in the calendar year and he ended last season as many fans' player of the campaign. There were doubts about whether he would still be a world-class talent after his transfer from Real Madrid, but the player made a mockery of those concerns by delivering excellent performances each week.
