BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2023 nominees and who is favourite to win

The 2023 BBC Sports Personality of the Year is back for its 70th edition. And the winner will be announced on Tuesday (December 19), when the show broadcasts live on BBC One. The six nominees have been revealed, with Manchester United's own Mary Earps favourite to win, succeeding fellow England footballer Beth Mead.

The winner will be announced just before 9pm, with the show broadcasting live from 7pm. Below is the shortlist and a closer look at the nominees.

The 30-year-old Manchester United and England goalkeeper helped the Lionesses reach the World Cup final in Australia in August.
