Manchester United's star players shining through despite tough start to season

Hold onto your hats folks, we’ve only had four weeks of Women’s Super League action and it's already taking a break. For Manchester United it's been a jam-packed brawl to get through both domestic and Champions League fixtures but it seems like we’ve yet to see what these star-studded names bring to this revamped squad.

Don't get me wrong, the Reds have come up against exquisite talent to harass this Manchester United 2.0 side but so far we’re yet to see the fruits of the fortune spent in the summer. Melvine Malard, Geyse, Hinata Miyazawa and Gabby George are among the 10 new faces at Carrington and while the former has hit the spot from the off, others need more time bedding in.

United are fourth in the WSL table, two points behind leaders, and local rivals, Manchester City. A surprising stat considering Marc Skinner’s side took on Arsenal, Aston Villa and a pressing Leicester City and managed to come out unscathed, well with a point at least.

In Europe, the Reds were booted out of Champions League qualification after facing a harrowing Paris Saint Germain loss in France. But having gone through six fixtures in four weeks, there is some talent making waves.
