Manchester United's next generation and who could be the Reds' new young star

The backbone of Manchester United has always been its ability to produce talented players at a young age that then go on to play for the first team and beyond. It's a proud legacy that is proved by the fact that the Reds have selected a homegrown player in every squad for more than 80 years.

From the likes of George Best to the Class of 92, United's youth programme and academy has been identifying and nurturing stars of the future for decades, and it's something that's still evident today after their youngsters lifted the FA Youth Cup just over 12 months ago. Some are local lads spotted by United's Manchester network of scouts, while others are talented youngsters plucked from rival academies across the world.

Some of United's more promising young stars are now pushing their way into first-team reckoning, and will be hoping to gain the approval of Erik ten Hag during the forthcoming pre-season.
