Kobbie Mainoo sends two-word message to Alejandro Garnacho after making Manchester United return

Manchester United will take their pre-season preparations up another notch this week after the bulk of their senior squad returned to Carrington on Saturday morning.

Those who featured on the international stage last month were entitled to an extended summer break before reporting back to the club's training ground. Senior figures, such as Luke Shaw, Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford, returned on Saturday and participated in a training session.

United, following Wednesday's clash with Lyon in Edinburgh, will fly to the USA for their official pre-season tour. The opening game of the tour, which is against Arsenal on Saturday evening, is likely to see the club's international contingent feature for the first time this summer, with Erik ten Hag hinting that they will not be involved against Lyon.

It means United's supporters will have to wait just that little bit longer before they see the club's senior stars back in action. It also means an extended wait to see Alejandro Garnacho in United colours again.

The youngster, who signed a long-term contract at Old Trafford back in April, made his senior debut for Argentina last month. He stepped off the bench in two friendlies, helping the World Cup holders defeat both Australia and Indonesia.
