Luke Shaw jokes what he won't miss about David de Gea following Manchester United exit

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has joked that he won't miss David de Gea's taste in music following the latter's departure from Old Trafford.

The goalkeeper confirmed his exit from M16 on Saturday afternoon, issuing a lengthy statement on social media to confirm that he had left the club. His contract expired on June 30 and he and the club were unable to reach an agreement over fresh terms.

His exit has brought his 12-year stay at Old Trafford to an end, meaning he will be looking to soon get snapped up and test himself elsewhere. United, of course, are already well into their search for a replacement and are looking to tie up a deal for Andre Onana.

De Gea made 545 appearances during his time at United, winning eight major trophies, including the club's last Premier League title in 2013. He also won the Premier League's Golden Glove twice, including last season.

It is why De Gea, despite the increasing levels of criticism he faced towards the end of last term, has departed M16 with the legendary tag hung around his neck. Players and fans have messaged the Spaniard in their droves on social media to wish him well and thank him for his service over the past 12 years.

But despite all of the well wishes he has received, Shaw, who is now United's longest-serving player, being snapped up from Southampton back in 2014, could not resist making a tongue-in-cheek comment in response to De Gea's exit.
