Manchester United's January budget 'depends on Cristiano Ronaldo' and more transfer rumours

Manchester United's January transfer budget is reportedly dependent on whether Cristiano Ronaldo leaves the club or not.

According to the Sun, Erik ten Hag is set to receive approximately £70million to invest in his squad this winter. However, they claim that this figure could be set to rise to as much as £100million should Ronaldo leave United in the upcoming transfer window, after the Qatar World Cup.

It is thought that Ten Hag has already held initial talks over future transfer plans, and that the Dutchman will be backed by the Glazers in the January window. The report states that United's manager has decided he needs another three first-team players if the Reds are to get back to competing at the top of the Premier League once again.

Elsewhere, Spanish outlet Fichajes (via Sport Witness) report that Donny van de Beek could be on the move to Inter Milan in January.

Van de Beek has only played 19 minutes of football for Ten Hag this season, having sat out the last four matches. It is thought that Inter's manager, Simone Inzaghi, is the 'main supporter' of the former Ajax man's potential move to Italy, as he looks to offer the Dutchman more game time in a bid to tempt him away from Old Trafford.

The Serie A side view Van de Beek as a more accessible alternative to Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who United were also linked with over the summer. The arrival of Ten Hag at the club has not led to the reunion many had perhaps foreseen, as the exit door appears to be set to open in January.
