Manchester United's best matchday squad vs Southampton with double injury boost

Manchester United will be targeting a return to winning ways when they travel to St Mary's to face Southampton on Saturday lunchtime.

United were beaten for the second weekend running last time out, losing 3-0 to Liverpool. Goals from Luis Diaz (2) and Mohamed Salah meant Erik ten Hag's side signed off for the first international break of the season with a whimper.

With that said, United will be itching to get back on track in Saturday's early kick-off against a Southampton team that lost each of its opening three league matches prior to the hiatus. Furthermore, the Saints have scored just one league goal so far this term.

When Ten Hag addresses the media at Carrington on Thursday, United's supporters will be praying he shares some positive news on the injury front. United were without six first-team players against Liverpool, including Mason Mount, who was a fresh addition to the injury list.
