Erik ten Hag's best Manchester United line-up after key injury update

Manchester United will hope to welcome the majority, if not all, of their injured players back to the matchday squad in the near future.

Erik ten Hag has been forced to deal with several players being unavailable through injury ever since the start of the campaign. Leny Yoro is yet to make his first appearance for the club since signing from Lille in the summer transfer window.

Yoro has been sidelined with a fractured metatarsal since pre-season and is not expected to make a return until November. Ten Hag confirmed in his Friday press conference that Yoro is progressing well in the centre-back's recovery from injury.

"Yes, he [Yoro] is doing very well," said Ten Hag. "It is very pleasing that his rehab is going in the right direction and I expect him soon, but what I mean by soon, is that he is now in the right planning process.

"He is in the right spot and he will return as soon as possible into the squad and then the team training."

Luke Shaw is also yet to feature for United this season due to a calf injury he suffered before the campaign began. The Reds had hoped that Shaw would return after the September international break but now it seems that the left-back will not be available until the end of October at the earliest.

"I think it’s probably, but I can't say it's 100 per cent sure," Ten Hag told reporters when asked if he believes Shaw will return next month.

"The plan is just be back before but, as I say I can’t say this for 100 per cent for sure it can be short after the break."
