Manchester United receive new transfer deadline to complete huge £130m double deal
Manchester United's 2024/2025 season is over after losing to Tottenham in the Europa League on Wednesday evening. Ruben Amorim's men were unable to get the job done and, now, pressure will be on them to improve.
A big summer now awaits them. At least three players will be signed, with much of their business coming from player sales. If United are going to be better, they have to hand Amorim the necessary tools.
The list of players linked with a move to Old Trafford is rapidly increasing. So with that in mind, The Manchester Evening News has taken a closer look at the latest transfer news and gossip from Old Trafford;
Al-Hilal have set Bruno Fernandes a deadline of next week to decide whether or not wants to depart United and secure a move to Saudi Arabia.
The Daily Mail has reported that the club wants an answer from the Portuguese by the end of the month. It's been claimed that a bid worth £100million has been offered to United with a contract worth £700,000-a-week offered to Fernandes.
Fernandes isn't a player that United particularly want to sell, but the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham has placed financial constraints on the club.
The Manchester Evening News says: "If United let Fernandes go, there will be uproar from some sections of the fanbase. The midfielder has been their best player all season and is the sort of player they need.
"Despite being non-existent in the final in Bilbao, Fernandes has, at times, single-handedly kept United's season alive. However, if he decides he wants the move, they will have no choice but to accept it.
"For United, it will give them time to seek out an improvement. But their past business hasn't provided any proof that they can replace him properly for the new season."
