Manchester United receive huge Luke Shaw injury boost after 264-day absence
Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is back in training as he looks to return from a lengthy absence.
Shaw last played for United on February 18 when he picked up a muscle injury against Luton Town but was included in the England squad for the summer's European Championship.
After being unavailable for the opening Euro 2024 group games, Shaw featured for England in the knockout rounds and made his first start of the tournament in the final against Spain.
Shaw reported to United pre-season at the end of summer but the club confirmed in August he would 'miss the opening games of the Premier League campaign due to a calf injury sustained in training and he hasn't been seen since, which has led fans to question his injury record.

However, Shaw took part in training at Carrington on Friday. That represents an important step in his recovery and he should be available after the November international break.
Shaw trained alongside the players who didn't start against PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday and took part in the rondo warm-up drill. He has not played a competitive fixture for United in 264 days but is expected to be available for selection for the incoming Ruben Amorim.
Leny Yoro was also present in training on Friday as he continues his rehabilitation programme and the French defender could make his United debut against Ipswich Town this month.
Tyrell Malacia was another who took part and could make an appearance for the Under-21s as he continues to inch closer to playing for the first time since suffering a knee injury.
