Manchester United receive Anthony Martial injury boost as Chelsea date confirmed

Here are your evening Manchester United headlines on Saturday, April 22.

Martial injury boost

Manchester United appear to have been handed an injury boost after Anthony Martial was seen with the squad ahead of the FA Cup semi-final clash against Brighton.

Erik ten Hag's side take on the Seagulls at Wembley on Sunday afternoon, with a place in the final - against either Manchester City or Sheffield United - up for grabs. It seemed as though the Reds would be without Martial for the clash with Brighton after he limped off against Sevilla on Thursday night.

The French striker started in the Europa League quarter-final second leg game, but he was taken off in the second half and replaced by Wout Weghorst. Chelsea fixture confirmed

Manchester United will host Chelsea at Old Trafford on Thursday May 25, with kick-off at 8pm.

The pair were due to meet this weekend, but United's progression into the FA Cup semi-finals saw it postponed. Erik ten Hag's side face Brighton at Wembley on Sunday.

With a congested fixture schedule already leaving little room for manoeuvre, few midweeks were free for rearranged fixtures and the clash will now form a key part of United's run-in as the penultimate game of the season. The original meeting was picked for broadcasting and the rearranged clash will be shown live on Sky Sports.
