Manchester United transfer news LIVE David de Gea contract latest and injury updates ahead of Brighton

Manchester United will be eager to right the wrongs of Thursday against Brighton in tomorrow's FA Cup semi-final.

The Reds may not be on for a cup treble anymore but can still end the season with a double, should they defeat the Seagulls ahead of a Wembley showdown with either Manchester City or Sheffield United.

The other semi-final is being played this afternoon, so United will know who their potential final opponents are by the end of the day.

A number of players will be chomping at the bit to get back on the bike after being pushed off it in Spain. David de Gea is one, having made two blunders in the Europa League second leg.

He is currently in contract talks with the club over a new deal and is set to start against Brighton.

Meanwhile, the fitness of Anthony Martial is unknown after he picked up yet another knock against Sevilla while Scott McTominay and Raphael Varane are major doubts.

Manchester United will travel to Wembley on Sunday without their full squad amid a number of injuries and setbacks.

Their lack of strength in depth was exposed against Sevilla in Thursday’s Europa League tie, a 3-0 defeat ending the club’s hopes of a cup treble this season. There were a small number of positives to take from the disappointing evening, though.

Marcus Rashford made his return from injury by coming off the bench while Marcel Sabitzer was deemed fit enough to start after pulling out of Sunday’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest with a groin issue.
