'It's over' - Manchester United fans react to Marcus Rashford and Raphael Varane injury updates

Manchester United fans have shared their angst after Marcus Rashford was declared a doubt for Saturday's match with Wolves, overshadowing the return of Raphael Varane.

The striker could miss the weekend's clash due to a leg injury. Rashford is enjoying the most prolific season of his career with 29 goals, with United's push for a top-four berth heavily reliant on his goalscoring ability.

Meanwhile, Varane has not played since picking up an ankle knock against Sevilla in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final defeat on April 13. He has missed 15 games through injury this season, having sat out seven during his latest spell on the sidelines.

The 30-year-old is part of Erik ten Hag’s first-choice central defensive partnership alongside Lisandro Martinez. The Argentine has himself been ruled out for the season meaning United have had to cope without their first-choice pairing.

Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw have both played ahead of club captain Harry Maguire in their absence. Since Varane’s injury, United have failed to win four of their seven matches and face Wolves on the back of two straight defeats.

His return is welcomed by fans, however, most are concerned about United's chances of a top-four finish without Rashford. United's next highest scorer is Bruno Fernandes on 11 while centre forwards Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst have a combined tally of just nine.

Many supporters who are worried about Rashford's possible absence have pointed to the Premier League table, which sees United ahead of fifth-place Liverpool by a point.
