Manchester United will be targeting a winning conclusion to 2023 when they face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday evening.

Victory over Villa will only be reflected on positively, though, if United can follow it up with another three points. United have had too many false dawns this season, and they desperately need to put a positive run of results together.

Manager Erik ten Hag is poised to pick from the same pool of players that saw off Villa, with no members of the injured brigade expected back just yet. It means the Dutchman could select the same XI again.

It means, as ever, Andre Onana is expected to retain his place in goal. The Cameroonian, who is set to jet off to the Africa Cup of Nations next month, has started every single game for the Reds this season and that trend is poised to continue on the banks of the Trent.
