Manchester United predicted line-up vs Nottingham Forest as Jonny Evans and Marcus Rashford start

Manchester United will be targeting a winning conclusion to 2023 when they face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday evening.

The Reds, who defeated Forest 3-2 in the reverse fixture in August, got back to winning ways in midweek, beating Aston Villa by the same scoreline at Old Trafford. United staged an impressive second half recovery, coming from 2-0 down to clinch all three points via goals from Alejandro Garnacho (2) and Rasmus Hojlund.

Victory over Villa will only be reflected on positively, though, if United can follow it up with another three points. United have had too many false dawns this season, and they desperately need to put a positive run of results together.

Manager Erik ten Hag is poised to pick from the same pool of players that saw off Villa, with no members of the injured brigade expected back just yet. It means the Dutchman could select the same XI again.

It means, as ever, Andre Onana is expected to retain his place in goal. The Cameroonian, who is set to jet off to the Africa Cup of Nations next month, has started every single game for the Reds this season and that trend is poised to continue on the banks of the Trent.

Ahead of the former Ajax and Inter Milan goalkeeper, Ten Hag could deploy the same back-four
