Manchester United's predicted line-up vs Tottenham as Luke Shaw and Christian Eriksen return

Manchester United return to Old Trafford for the first time since their Boxing Day heroics against Aston Villa when they host another top four rival Tottenham Hotspur.

Prior to their comfortable victory over Wigan Athletic, mood around the club had dipped again after the defeat to struggling Nottingham Forest. The loss summed up all that has been wrong with the Reds this season as their inconsistencies were pushed to the fore.

Erik ten Hag has claimed United will get better this month when those who are injured return. Fortunately, in his pre-match press conference he confirmed as many as six of his players could be back to play a part against Spurs this weekend.

With this in mind, MEN Sport has picked the team we expect to start on Sunday.

Goalkeeper - Andre Onana

The Cameroonian has controversially chosen to stay with United despite AFCON starting this weekend and thus it seems a foregone conclusion he will start against Spurs. Making such a bold move means he will have to perform to prove his choice was a good one.

Defenders - Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, Luke Shaw

One of those back in contention to take on the North London club is Shaw. The England international has had a rough time with injury and illness since Boxing Day but thankfully he has recovered.

He remains integral to this defence and must start. The question is whether Dalot or Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts on the other flank.

The former's goal at the DW Stadium will probably edge this battle. While Lisandro Martinez is also available, it seems unlikely Ten Hag will take the risk.

Midfielders - Kobbie Mainoo, Christian Eriksen, Bruno
