Manchester United players 'unwilling to cooperate' with Erik ten Hag told to leave

Manchester United players who are 'unwilling to cooperate' with Erik ten Hag have been told they should leave the club.

MEN Sport has revealed that Ajax are expecting Ten Hag to leave them for next season's campaign after the 52-year-old Dutchman was interviewed for the permanent position. Last month, the Manchester Evening News reported that the board saw Ten Hag as the preferred candidate for the role ahead of Mauricio Pochettino.

However, reports from inside the United dressing room revealed that the squad was split on the appointment of Ten Hag. Some were believed to be excited about working with the Dutchman, while others were believed to be underwhelmed.

According to Rafael van der Vaart, those players with concerns should walk away from United. Speaking to Ziggo Sport via Sport Witness, the former Tottenham, Ajax and Real Madrid man said: "It’s a great squad, but they just play very badly.

"It’s not always the coach’s fault. You can say: 'Ten Hag is not a big name in England', but maybe that’s an advantage.

"If you’re not going to cooperate with his plan, just leave." A number of first team players are expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season due to their contracts expiring, these include Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani.
