Five Ajax players who could join Erik ten Hag at Manchester United

The arrival of Erik ten Hag is expected to be announced by Manchester United in the next few days.

The Dutchman has been the club’s number one choice since mid-March following talks with the Old Trafford hierarchy. He will be charged with revamping the United squad with an exodus expected this summer.

While he may look further afield for reinforcements, Ten Hag may also confide and trust in what - or more accurately who - he is familiar with. Ajax may have lost the Dutch cup final on Sunday but they are on course for their third league title under the 52-year-old.

He’s trusted in a number of his players to lead the team on the pitch to this success. And so, he may wish to bring one or two of them over to England this summer.

The MEN looks at five players who could be joining Ten Hag on his flight over to Manchester.

The winger is reportedly a favourite of ten Hag and has been tipped to be one of his first signings as United boss. Ajax have said they will let the Brazilian, who has 12 goals and 10 assists this season, leave for a minimum of £50m.

The goalkeeper has been an ever-present for Ajax since joining from Barcelona in 2015. The 26-year-old may initially come in as a solid back-up for David de Gea with a view to him becoming number one later down the line.
