Manchester United players slammed after they ‘threw in the towel’ against Brentford
Manchester United's players have been told that they "threw in the towel" after Erik ten Hag's side conceded four goals in just 35 minutes on Saturday.
The 4-0 defeat to Brentford stunned supporters as United lost their second Premier League match of the season. Christian Eriksen's former side blew the Reds away in a first-half performance that has been hard to fully comprehend.
Ten Hag's team were second-best all match as they failed to bounce back from their opening day defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford. The Dutchman was forced into making three substitutions at half-time to stop the flow of goals after what he saw as a first half littered with "unacceptable" mistakes.

It is still far too early to judge Ten Hag - the manager needs proper backing from the board and a sufficient amount of time to instil his philosophy into his new squad. However, the poor start to the season has not stopped some people from questioning the Dutchman's future at the club.
Garth Crooks voiced his criticism of the manager and his players after the shocking Brentford defeat as he questioned whether Ten Hag was cut out to manage United in the Premier League.
Crooks told BBC Sport: "I saw it but I could hardly believe it. The destruction of Manchester United against Brentford took less than 45 minutes. The complete destruction took just a few minutes longer.
"However, what I found concerning was United and their new manager Erik ten Hag hadn't got a clue what to do about it. Brentford's victory over United can only be described as a complete and total humiliation. However, it wasn't the loss itself that alarmed me, but the way the United players seemed to capitulate and
