Manchester United 'offered swap deal for Jadon Sancho' and other transfer rumours

Manchester United have reportedly been offered a swap deal by Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho.

According to Sport BILD journalist Christian Falk, Dortmund have offered United the opportunity to sign Donyell Malen for free so long as Sancho goes in the other direction. The Reds are thought to be keen on Malen who Erik ten Hag first became aware of during the right-sided winger's time at PSV Eindhoven.

The 24-year-old moved to the Bundesliga in 2021 and has since made 92 appearances scoring 24 goals and grabbing 16 assists. Having started this season with three goals in four league games, Malen somewhat went off the boil but did score in November's victory over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Falk added in his tweet United would need to pay €30m if they were not to accept the swap. It is reported a meeting between the two clubs was undertaken on Friday to discuss the agreement. Should United choose to allow Sancho to leave, it will bring to an end his long-running exile from the first team after he publicly called out Ten Hag for making him a 'scapegoat' following the defeat to Arsenal in September.

Elsewhere, Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Jeremie Frimpong reportedly has a preference of Premier League destination should he leave in the summer. MEN Sport understands Frimpong is a player United have looked at to bolster their wide options.
