Manchester United might need to complete ten more transfers before the window closes

With just over a week of the summer transfer window remaining, Manchester United face a race against the clock to get their house in order.

United have drafted in three new faces so far this summer and are still hungry for more ahead of the bell sounding at 11pm a-week-on-Friday. The Reds have bolstered three core areas of their squad, signing Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund, who is yet to make his debut because of injury.

Despite those three additions costing United north of £150million, the Reds are still in desperate need of fresh blood, particularly in midfield. Their first two games of the season have seen them be overrun in the engine room, leaving Casemiro in desperate need of defensive support.

Though he is not an out-and-out defensive midfielder, United are considering a move for Bayern Munich's Ryan Gravenberch. Manager Erik ten Hag worked with him at Ajax, overseeing his development, and knows him inside out.

Though, like Mount, he likes to be progressive and forward-thinking with the ball, he has more defensive nous than the England international. Still, he is not the midfield destroyer that United need, and bringing in a defensive-midfielder before the end of the window should be their number one priority.
