Manchester United face two-way Sofyan Amrabat battle and more transfer rumours

Manchester United look to be in a two-way battle with Juventus for the signature of Sofyan Amrabat, according to reports in Italy.

Erik ten Hag's side have been linked with the Morocco international all summer and the Dutchman is thought to be open to midfield reinforcements. News of Mason Mount's injury after the Tottenham defeat only intensified calls for additions, following two poor performances.

Ryan Gravenberch's name surfaced last week but Amrabat has been a constant link. Liverpool were also in the running but Italian media outlet Tuttomercato suggests it is now between United and Juventus.

Both clubs are said to be weighing up a move for the 26-year-old, who was left out of the Fiorentina squad to face Raid Wien on Thursday evening. The Serie A side's chief executive Giuseppe Barone insisted on Thursday that they are yet to receive a formal offer for their man.

Elsewhere, Dutch outlet De Telegraaf reports that FC Twente have now ended their hopes of signing Facundo Pellistri on loan. The winger could still be loaned out this summer with United keen for the 21-year-old to continue his development with regular game time, something not guaranteed at Old Trafford.

Talks are ongoing over a potential move to Sheffield United, with the newly-promoted club keen to add more attacking quality. Ten Hag is said to have recommended former playing club FC Twente to Pellistri. However, the report suggests United feel they are still light in attacking options so may instead keep the youngster. As a result, the Eredivisie club have taken him off their list of potential targets.
