Manchester United 'join' Tottenham in Ivan Toney race and more transfer rumours

Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt is among the players that could leave the Bundesliga giants in the summer amid links with Manchester United.

The Dutchman has found his playing time restricted in Bavaria and reports have surfaced from Germany that the former Ajax centre-back is becoming disgruntled with the situation. United boss Erik ten Hag worked with De Ligt during his successful stint in the Eredivisie with Holland giants Ajax.

De Ligt made 70 appearances under the 53-year-old, and featured in their memorable Champions League run in 2019 which ended in the semi-final stage at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur. Old Trafford has been a destination that the defender has been frequently linked with and in 2022, it was suggested that United had held talks with De Ligt during his time with Juventus.

In recent days, it has been suggested that Ten Hag is closely monitoring the situation surrounding his former defender. And Sky Sports Germany have reported that the 24-year-old could leave in the summer, two years after his €67million (£57m) move across Europe from Juventus.
