Manchester United's £50million Antony plan and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly looking to offload Antony.

The Brazilian has struggled to find his form at Old Trafford following his £86million move from Ajax in 2022. Erik ten Hag has so far made the decisions to offload Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek, Sergio Reguilon, Hannibal Mejbri, Alvaro Fernandez, Joe Hugill and Mateo Mejia. But there is work yet to be done, according to the Evening Standard.

It is claimed Antony is next on the list with a permanent move to Saudi Arabia a possibility, along with Sancho. The club want to recoup some of the £155m spent on both wingers.

United are said to want around £50m for Antony, who is under contract until June 2027 with the option of a further year. Although the Saudi Pro League has attracted big-name players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Sadio Mane and Karim Benzema, their transfer budgets are said to be limited this month.

Elsewhere, Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg has credited United with an interest in Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee. The 22-year-old came through Bayern Munich's academy but struggled to make the breakthrough at senior level.

The Dutch forward has been of interest for a number of top sides since. It is understood he is seen as a potential option for Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford who have been struggling in front of goal. CBS Sports suggest that 'early talks' have taken place.
