Manchester United have to complete their most important signing to master Erik ten Hag's style
Summer holidays are about to start for schoolchildren and Manchester United have still not sold a senior squad member.
That leaves United with seven weeks to finalise incomings and outgoings. Erik ten Hag swerved transfer-related questions on MUTV yet they arose during his stop-off in the Ullevaal Stadium mixed zone.
"Of course, goalkeeper is a key position, but I am happy with the players we have now," he said. Ten Hag toed the line when he said Dean Henderson is "an option". Yes, for Nottingham Forest.
You can imagine what Henderson, whose quote "If they (United) are not seeing what I am doing then that's their problem... cream rises to the top" is one of his least memorable, makes of United's productive discussions about Andre Onana.

Henderson was not in Oslo, where Ten Hag wisely granted Matej Kovar a half over Nathan Bishop. Kovar impressed on loan at Sparta Prague last season whereas Bishop seems content with the role of goalkeeping coach at the premature age of 23.
It is probably too late for Tom Heaton, 14 years Bishop's senior, to make a tilt at the No.1 role but he was so distant from his penalty area to sweep up a Leeds counter-attack he was almost on the halfway line. Whoever United's 'keeper is against Wolves in four weeks' time on Monday, they are bound to be the antithesis of David de Gea.
De Gea and Onana have dominated the United news cycle for the last fortnight when the most important position is at the opposite end. United found goals hard to come by last season but regularly found a way to win. That approach is unsustainable into next season.
