Summer holiday travel warning for anyone in the UK still using a red passport

Holiday-makers who still use a red passport have been warned to check their document before they go away.

That's because every country has different entry rules, which are easy to forget. One of them being passport validity rules.

One such passport rule applied by a large share of world countries states that a passport must be valid for another six months before its holder departs for international travel. This is known as the 'six-month validity rule', reports the Liverpool Echo.

According to VisaGuide.World, there are 70 countries that have a six month passport rule, while another 41 apply the three month passport validity rule, which means travellers can enter their territory if they have a passport that is valid for at least three more months.

This rule is especially important if you still have a red passport, which are no longer being issued after the country left the EU meaning all red passports are due to expire in the coming years. While thousands of people are still able to use their red passports if they're in date, you must check its expiry date.

That's why we've listed every country with passport validity rules.
