Manchester United have something Real Madrid cannot offer in Leny Yoro transfer talks

Leny Yoro has called out a fake account on social media that was impersonating him and tweeted: "I don't want you Manchester United. Leave me alone."

That account was spreading misinformation but it remains to be seen whether Yoro wants United, who have had a bid accepted for the youngster by French club Lille.

It's understood United's offer for the 18-year-old centre-back is between €60million and €70m, although Real Madrid is said to be the player's preferred destination and the Champions League winners tend to get what they want in the transfer market more often than not.

On paper, a choice between United and Madrid is a no-brainer. The former finished eighth in the Premier League last season and the latter are European champions again.

Madrid are the biggest club in the world, they have dominated the Champions League over the last decade and they have just added Kylian Mbappe to their squad. They are expected to be an unstoppable force next season and Yoro only needs to look at Raphael Varane for inspiration.

Varane was also 18 years old when he joined Real Madrid from RC Lens in 2011 and he won countless major trophies during a hugely successful stint at the Bernabeu Stadium.

Back then, Varane was regarded as one of the most promising young French defenders and Yoro has that status in 2024. It wouldn't be a surprise if Madrid use Varane as an example in talks with Yoro because the pair have similar backgrounds and he is proof of what is possible to achieve.
