Manchester United have a simple Jadon Sancho decision to make after Erik ten Hag U-turn

Those who purchased tickets well in advance for Manchester United's trip to Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday would not have expected a sighting of Jadon Sancho to have been included in the admission price.

After patching things up with Erik ten Hag just over a week earlier, Sancho made his first appearance in a United shirt in 329 days in the Scottish capital. He started on the left of United's front three as goals from Amad and Joe Hugill sealed a 2-0 win over Rangers.

For most, the friendly will not live particularly long in the memory. It was a standard pre-season encounter that featured flashes of quality on what was otherwise a fairly chilled-out afternoon north of the border.

The main talking points, whatever the result, were always going to be Leny Yoro's debut and Sancho's return. Those who attended the Edinburgh clash knew they were in with a chance of catching a glimpse of the duo after they were named in the 26-man travelling squad on Saturday morning.

Sancho was left out of the squad that had travelled to Norway for the pre-season opener against Rosenborg a few days earlier but he was still a topic of conversation.

"As we said, we draw the line," said Ten Hag post-match. "Manchester United need good players and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on."

Sancho was banished from United's first-team squad last September after publicly accusing Ten Hag of lying in a social media post.
