Manchester United give three youngsters professional contracts after treble-winning season

Manchester United youngsters Ashton Missin, Jacob Devaney and Tom Myles have signed their first professional contracts with the club.

United's Under-18s enjoyed a stunning season in the 2023/24, completing a treble and winning two of those trophies at the expense of rivals Manchester City.

Last season's U18 side were supremely talented and they have been compared to the FA Youth Cup winning squad of 2022, which included the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Willy Kambwala and Dan Gore.

Some of the U18 stars from last term have already been given professional contracts, which can only be signed once a player is 17, and United have handed out more deals this week.

Devaney celebrated his 17th birthday last month, his natural position is defensive midfielder and he played 22 of a possible 24 games in the U18s' league campaign.

He was born in Yorkshire and his father, Martin Devaney, is the assistant coach at League One club Barnsley. Devaney qualifies to play for the Republic of Ireland through his grandparents.
