Manchester United get Manuel Ugarte permission as four transfer targets 'revealed'

Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique is reportedly prepared to part ways with Manuel Ugarte amid links to Manchester United.

Reports suggest that negotiations are underway for Ugarte with United already seeing an opening bid rejected. L'Equipe reported earlier this week that an undisclosed bid was turned down with it said to have been deemed insufficient by the French giants.

However, a move for the Uruguay international could still be on the cards despite only completing the move to the French capital last year. An unnamed club from England, two Italian teams and one from Germany are also credited with an interest in the player.

The Sunday People suggest that the Reds have now held 'two rounds of talks' for Ugarte who is currently at Copa America. He has emerged as the ideal candidate to replace Casemiro, whose future at Old Trafford, is unclear.

The report also states that INEOS have four top summer targets. In addition to Ugarte, these are Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite, Bayern Munich's Matthijs De Ligt, plus Bologna’s Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee. It is said Erik ten Hag spoke with the latter last week.

United were also said to have been considering a shock bid for West Ham’s Edson Alvarez before he sustained a hamstring injury in Copa America this week.

Ugarte completed a £51million move from Sporting CP last summer and went on to make 37 appearances in all competitions. He was close to joining Chelsea prior to his PSG move, and the Blues later signed Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion.
