Manchester United agree Manuel Ugarte transfer terms as Ratcliffe goes for next huge deal

Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, according to reports.

The 23-year-old could end his association with the Ligue 1 champions after just one year, following his €60million (£51.1m) move from Sporting CP.

Erik ten Hag has welcomed two new faces to the squad in the last week after the arrival of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and Leny Yoro as they reached a £58.9million agreement with Lille. Now, reports suggest Ineos could be on the verge of landing a third after agreeing terms with the midfielder.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that terms have been discussed with Ugarte, who shares the same agent as Yoro, and have an advantage in the race as he remains keen on a move to the 20-time Premier League champions - despite failing to qualify for the Champions League.

He added that talks are ongoing between representatives of United and the French club but other clubs could pose competition after enquiries.

In a tweet, he said: "Manchester United have agreed on personal terms with Manuel Ugarte. Contract terms discussed, player keen on moving to United even without Champions League football.

"Club-to-club talks continue with PSG, as more clubs also inquired. Same agent as Leny Yoro: Jorge Mendes."

At the end of June, French outlet L'Equipe claimed that PSG boss Luis Enrique was prepared to part ways with Ugarte following reports of interest from United. They said the English club had ann opening bid rejected as it was deemed insufficient by the French giants.
