Manchester United considering loaning three youngsters in January transfer window

Manchester United are considering loaning midfielder Dan Gore this month.

Gore, 19, made his debut against Crystal Palace in the League Cup win in September and he has already generated interest from Preston North End, as well as other Championship clubs.

Fellow midfielders Casemiro and Mason Mount are expected to return from injury in mid-January though Sofyan Amrabat is unavailable all month as he represents Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations.

United have received enquiries from League One and League Two clubs about taking striker Joe Hugill on loan. Hugill, 20, is expected to sign a new contract as part of any arrangement to head out on a first career loan.

Hugill has been named on the United bench three times in the last six weeks and United were without an out-and-out striker in their defeat at Nottingham Forest as Rasmus Hojlund and Anthony Martial were both unwell.

The former Sunderland academy goalscorer impressed United manager Erik ten Hag and Hugill was an 11th-hour inclusion to the matchday squad for the win against Everton in November.

Charlie McNeill will be recalled from his season-long loan at League Two Stevenage, where he has only started three times. McNeill, 20, scored on his Stevenage debut but he has not played since September 23.

United are planning for McNeill to stay with the club for the remainder of the season. McNeill, Hugill and Gore were members of United's FA Youth Cup-winning squad in 2022.

Ten Hag has also indicated at least one academy 'keeper will head out on loan. Radek Vitek and Dermot Mee have been involved in first team training this season.
